ACUPUNCTRE-ET-AL CONTINUING EDUCATION WORKSHOPS
Acupuncture Orthopedics: The Neck and Shoulder Complex
An orthopedic acupuncture approach to treat pain and injury of the neck and shoulder
APPROVED FOR NCCAOM 14 PDA's
This two day seminar will review treatment protocols for common injuries that affect the neck and shoulder. These two joints share muscle attachments, meridian landscapes and muscle groups, thus injury to the cervical spine often involves shoulder symptoms and vice versa.
Effective therapy requires examination and analysis of the muscular, anatomical and lifestyle factors that either caused or precipitated the injury.
The practitioner will learn to integrate knowledge of the anatomy and biomechanics of the Neck and Shoulder Complex with Oriental Medical Theory into an effective acupuncture treatment that impacts structural, traumatic and organ related imbalances.
Injuries that will be reviewed include: Tendonitis, Bursitis, Adhesive Capsulitis, Cervical Disc Degeneration/Herniation, Cervical Spinal Stenosis, Whiplash, Neurovascular Compression Syndromes (Thoracic Outlet, Brachial Plexus Compression), Facet Syndromes, Nerve root Syndromes, Shoulder Impingement Syndromes, Rotator Cuff Problems
