AllAcupuncture Orthopedics courses are also available as distance learning. Acupuncture Orthopedics incorporates Classical Meridian acupuncture with Orthopedic Physical Therapy approches to impact pain, soft tissue injuries, TCM organ syndromes and other chronic health care disorders. Course content each weekend includes the use of TCM organ diagnosis and theory, Trigger, Motor and Huato points, referred pain patterns, assessment of the musculoskeletal system for postural dysfunctions, compensatory movement patterns, muscular integrity and range of motion and how to incorporate this information into an acupuncture protocol.
Acupuncture Orthopedics draws from Traditional Chinese and Japanese Meridian Theory, the trigger point work of Dr. Janet Travell, Acupuncture Physical Medicine (developed by Dr. Mark Seem) and Western orthopedic evaluation methods.
These courses will improve the practitioner's ability and success rate in treating both traditional organ syndromes and soft tissue problems, as a knowledge of the biomechanical aspects of the skeletal and muscular systems and how to impact them through acupuncture will lead to faster, more effective and longer lasting results.
The Acupuncture Orthopedics Series consists of 4 individual weekends that each target a different view of the body and the common syndromes and injuries found there. Each weekend is approved for 14 PDA's by the NCCAOM
