Mentorship Programme for Dry Needling (Trigger and Motor Point) and Pelvic Floor Acupuncture
Customized one-to-one professional mentoring/consulting services are offered for both Acupuncturists and Physical Therapists.
For Acupuncturists:
Orthopedic Mentoring:Previous or current students can bring in complex ortho patients and observe/assist in the evaluation and treatment process.
Acupuncturists interested in orthopedic trigger point work are also invited to bring in a current patient and observe/assist in the treatment process, or if they have a specific area of interest i.e. neck, shoulder, knee can observe the treatment process of a current patient of this practice.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction: Acupuncturists interested in treating this population can learn a functional treatment protocol. This 2 afternoon programme consists both of observation, education in needling appropriate areas around the perineum and a short lecture on the disease, process, symptoms and anatomy.
For Physical Therapists:
Instruction in "dry needling" of trigger points is available to Physical therapists who reside in states that allow "dry needling" within their scope of practice.

TESTIMONIALS
SARAH KNAUP, L.Ac, San Diego, CA: "Paula is a great acupuncturist and teacher. Her gentle style of teaching helped me to learn the trigger points that treat patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and pain. The handout she compiled was very comprehensive and outlined the western musculature and acupuncture point correlation. She was patient with my questions, and shared all the knowledge she has compiled from books to seminars and practical experience. I got to see the theory we talked about in practice. She co-ordinated a practionner from the office for me to practice on, so i could get clear feedback with my technique as well as needled the points on me, so i could experience the technique. It is well worth the trip to her office. I could integrate the techniques I learned immediately into my practice. If you are thinking of treating pelvic floor dysfunction patients, this is the place to learn."
BRYNN GRAHAM, L. AC, Portland OR: "Paula Haberman offers a unique professional experience in learning how to effectively treat chronic pelvic pain disorders and the myriad of related symptoms that develop concurrently. Little information is out there as to how to treat the many conditions that fall into this pain category, but Paula has done extensive research, garnering information, which she has developed into her own treatment protocol. She has used this protocol to effectively treat numerous patients, information she is more than willing to share with you. I spent an afternoon with her and was able to learn a great deal. Paula went over treatment strategies and protocols, and as she was treating patients, patiently explained why and how she was needling specific points or muscles. She also demonstrated a treatment on me so that I could feel the effects of the treatment myself. If you're interested in treating pelvic pain, I highly recommend a mentorship with Paula."
